Terms and conditions

1. Who we are

Vikka is operated by Coding Legends (Private) Limited, registered in Sri Lanka under number PV 00282784, of 298/34, Edirisingha Mawatha, Malwana, Biyagama, Sri Lanka. By using the site you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use it.

2. What Vikka is, and is not

Vikka is a venue where people advertise and sell to each other. It works in two ways, and which one applies changes what we are responsible for.

• Classified ads. The advertiser gives a contact number and you deal with them directly. No payment passes through Vikka. We are not a party to whatever you agree, we do not hold your money, and we cannot refund it.
• Marketplace orders. You order and pay through the site. We take the payment, hold it, and release it to the seller only after the delivery has settled. The Return Policy applies.

In both cases the goods are the seller's, not ours. We do not own, inspect or warrant what is listed.

3. Your account

• You must be 18 or over and give accurate details.
• You are responsible for what happens on your account. Keep your password to yourself, and turn on two-factor authentication.
• We may ask you to verify a phone number before you post, and to verify your identity before you sell or withdraw money.
• We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms. You can appeal, and the appeal is decided by someone other than the person who made the original decision.

4. Listing rules

Your listing must describe the actual item, at the price you will actually accept.

You may not list, among other things:

• Anything illegal to sell in Sri Lanka, including drugs, weapons and protected wildlife.
• Counterfeit goods, or anything you do not have the right to sell.
• Stolen property.
• Adult material, or anything that puts a person at risk.
• Money-making schemes, or requests to move a conversation off Vikka to avoid these rules.

Listings and messages are screened automatically, and a listing may be held for review before it appears. We can remove anything that breaks these rules, and we will tell you why.

5. Buying on the marketplace

• The price you pay is the price shown at checkout, including delivery. Nothing is added afterwards.
• Placing an order reserves the stock. If the payment does not complete, the reservation is released and the items go back on sale.
• The seller dispatches, and you confirm delivery. If you do not, the order completes on its own once the return window closes.
• Returns, refunds and disputes are covered by our Return Policy.

6. Buying from a classified ad

You are dealing with the advertiser directly, and Vikka holds none of the money. Meet in a public place, inspect the item before paying, and be wary of anyone who wants payment in advance or wants to move the conversation elsewhere. Report anything suspicious. Reports are read.

7. Selling

• You must have the right to sell the item and be able to deliver it as described.
• You set your own delivery charges and return window, and both are shown to buyers.
• Money from a sale is held until the order completes, then becomes available to withdraw to your bank account.
• We may hold a balance where there is an unresolved dispute or a suspicion of fraud. A hold stops money leaving; it never stops money arriving.

8. Payments and currency

Prices are in Sri Lankan Rupees (LKR). Payments are taken by our payment provider on their own secure page. Vikka never receives or stores your card number or security code. You may also pay from your Vikka wallet balance where you have one.

9. Fees

Posting an ordinary listing is free. We charge sellers a commission on completed marketplace orders, and we sell optional paid placement: a boost, a featured slot or an urgent tag. Current rates are shown to you before you are charged, and paid placement is taken from your wallet balance.

10. Your content

Your photographs and descriptions remain yours. By posting them you give us permission to display, resize and distribute them for the purpose of running and promoting the marketplace, which is what putting a listing on a public site requires. You confirm you have the right to give that permission.

11. Our responsibility

We provide the venue, the payment handling and the dispute process described here. We do not guarantee that a listing is accurate, that a seller will perform, or that an item is fit for your purpose. Where we hold your payment for a marketplace order, our responsibility is to apply the Return Policy and the dispute process fairly.

Nothing in these terms limits any right you have under Sri Lankan consumer law that cannot be limited by agreement.

12. Disputes

For a marketplace order, raise a return with the seller first. If they refuse and you still disagree, escalate it to us and we will decide. Both sides are told the decision and the reason for it. Opening a dispute holds the seller's money until it is settled.

These terms are governed by the laws of Sri Lanka, and the courts of Sri Lanka have jurisdiction.

13. Changes

We may change these terms. The current version is 2026-09-24 and any change is published here.
